The interior of the Diwan-i-Khas. Although it appears to be a two-story building from the outside, the interior is a single large room measuring 8.7 meters each side, punctuated by a single enormous column placed at the center of the room. The top of the column is open and may be walked upon. From here, four bridges extend to the corners of the building and the inner side of the "jali" balcony visible from outside.
